I had so much fun exploring King’s Park during this Family Maternity Session! Rachel and her family live close to this location, and spend a lot of time there, so it was the perfect, meaningful place to capture these memories.

Outdoor sessions can be tricky; We need to take into account several factors to achieve great photos.

1. The time of day (the sun can create harsh light/shadows and can cause people to squint).

2. The weather – which on this particular day went from clear skies, to cloudy with a sun shower, to partly cloudy, to bright sun!

3. Bugs! These kiddos were troopers on the trail through the bush.

4. Location – as you will see, King’s Park offers up lots of variety and beauty.

I had a really great time with Jen and Bobby at their Family Maternity Session. Aspire Studios was the perfect location and Jen’s outfit choices (for herself and hubby) were very complimentary.

We really lucked out with Evelyn’s Newborn Session! Mom contacted me after baby was born “hoping for a miracle” that I had availability, because booking newborn photos had slipped her mind. Thankfully I did have a date available shortly after her inquiry.

Mom was drawn to the more girly/feminine photos, so that’s what we went with. I added a special photo for this sweet little princess – take a peek and I’m sure you’ll love her gallery as much as I do 🙂

Mom chose a Baby Shark theme for her baby boy’s Cake Smash Session. Jason was most happy smashing his cake lol. Big sister wanted in on the action, so I snapped a few photos of them together as well.

Baby Camron, and his family, were such a delight to photograph! Camron was happy and smiling, and rolled over for the first time 🙂 Big brother and sister were very well behaved, which made my job easy.

Mom and dad opted to add on family/sibling photos to this Simple & Sweet Session. I’m so happy they did; They turned out beautifully and dad had a really cool idea for photos with his tattoos.

Olivia was such a pleasure to photography at her Cake Smash Session. She was so relaxed, content and happy – and really enjoyed eating her cake 🙂

I was so happy to see this sweet family again for a Newborn Session. Rylee’s big brother Quinn offered up some serious cuteness. One of my favourite photos of these siblings together are the out takes 🙂

As you will see, it’s safe to say that Link enjoyed the cake at his Cake Smash Session! He was sweet, gentle, and mild mannered. The soft colours and minimal set-up were perfect for him.

Mom, dad and big sister came to watch the cuteness in motion. I love to see (and hear) families reactions to their babies tasting cake, smashing and splashing.

Tenley’s mom had fun “shopping” my prop collection for headbands, tiebacks, and outfits for her baby girl to wear at her Newborn Session. I always ask clients to choose colours they’d like me to use to style their session with beforehand. This allows me to have everything ready to go when you arrive. You are more than welcome to browse through my collections while I’m taking photos; to choose additional items, or swap out ones that I’ve chosen for you.

I also do the family portion of the session soon after you arrive. This is especially helpful when young siblings are involved, because their attention span and patience is brief. Bribery is also very helpful lol.

Tenley’s big brother brought his favourite truck along, and was not willing to let it go, so we went with it. The photo you see with them together on the fur blanket is a composite, he was actually holding his truck 🙂 Take a peek at the last photo in this series which highlights his love for his truck perfectly!
