Elijah’s mom booked his newborn session without knowing he’d be him! His parents decided to wait until the birth to see if they were having a boy or a girl. I love this element of surprise 🙂

Mom requested a navy, burgundy and beige colour palette and had asked if I had anything hockey related props (which I didn’t)… but little did she know that I had a trick up my sleeve! Take a look at his photos to see what I came up with using a digital backdrop.

Vale’s Newborn Session was a whirlwind! She has two big sisters; aged 14 months and 3 years old which, made the family portion of the session BUSY to say the least lol. But, we managed to capture their attention long enough to capture some sweet memories.

Mom brought her wedding gown to be photographed with Vale, which is something special she had done with her other daughters.

I love incorporating sentimental items for families. When I style a session, I take all elements into consideration to make sure the colours and feel are cohesive.

Vale wore the sweetest outfit from Props By Jeana and it was the perfect choice to tie Mom’s wedding gown into the photo collection.

I was so pleased to photograph baby Zion. Mom had planned to see me for his Newborn photos, but with some unexpected post-birth complications, we had to wait.

Baby Zion was 6 weeks old for his session. A little too old for those curly newborn poses, but the perfect age for great eye-contact and some cute swaddled options.

The weather was border-line awful for this lovely family’s Fall Mini Session! It was spitting rain, chilly, dark and gloomy.

Thankfully everyone was happy, prepared, and well-dressed 🙂 And, with some sneaky editing skills, I managed to make the photos appear warm and cosy.

Alora’s mom requested a simple set up for her baby girl’s Cake Smash Session. I love simple set-ups… this way the focus is kept on baby without the distraction of too many props.

This style of cake is called a “naked cake”. The simplicity of it was perfect for this session. And as usual, Town Bake Shop & Ice Cream did a wonderful job and making the cake look great, and taste delicious.

I do have props to style sessions with, although I do keep them to a minimal. We wouldn’t want the photos to be about anything but your sweet baby.

Zach’s mom requested a Winnie the Pooh themed Cake Smash for her baby boy. It was such a fun session, Zach really enjoyed playing and smashing… which is what these sessions are all about!

Most babies are a little unsure at the beginning of these sessions. My lights, my camera, and a different environment are all new for baby. Keeping baby’s attention and switching up focus is key in keeping them content and happy.

I was so happy with the weather and beautiful golden light offered at this sweet family’s Fall Mini Session.

The weather has been awful this fall, so we lucked out with literally the perfect night. This session was held at Bird’s Hill Park… one of my favourite locations!

Get ready for a different kind of Cake Smash… my puppy Daisy turned ONE! I ordered the adorable donut doggie cake from Planet Pup Bakery, and she loved it. It took her a bit to warm up to the idea that she could eat something other than her dog food lol, but once she got a taste for it, she had a blast.

I chose a DO-NUT grow up theme, and I love how it all came together 🙂
