Baby milk bath – Oakbank Baby Photographer

Little girls are heaven’s flowers.

Unknown

My daughter Chloe is 9 months old. I gave her a floral milk bath to mark this milestone, and she loved it! She currently puts everything in her mouth, and the leaves and flowers were no exception 🙂

Let me know if you’d like me to photograph your baby in a floral milk bath at your baby session.

A boy and his lovies – Winnipeg Family Photographer

Lovey: An object that helps comfort small children during stressful periods of growth and change.

-kveller.com

Our little man woke up at 5:00 this morning. It didn’t take us long to realize he wasn’t feeling well. As parents, it is so hard to see your child sick and uncomfortable, and try to help in any way that you can. All he wanted to do today was relax on the couch with his lovies (Puppy, Tiger and his Thomas blanket).

These three items give him comfort; I’m not sure why, but they do. He sleeps with them at night, and brings them out with him in the morning. Whatever his reasons were for choosing these things to hold dear, I’m glad that I had the chance to photograph him snuggling them.

Feel free to bring along your child’s special lovey for your next baby & child session.

Dogs are family too – Oakbank Family Photographer

Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable. They might be a bit out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well.

Bonnie Wilcox

These Italian Greyhounds were our first babies and have been with us for so many special family memories. The grey coloured male is Polo (11 years old) and the fawn coloured female is Sadie (9 years old).

I have taken plenty of photos of these two over the years, and it saddens me to see them aging; knowing that they may not be with us for much longer. This pairing is definitely a challenge and are defiant and sneaky, but their misbehaviour is quickly overlooked because they are so darn cute! They love cuddles, attention and curling up in our laps.

I will continue to photograph them, for as long as they are with us, so we can look back and remember. Feel free to bring your own pets along for your next family photo session 🙂

Subtle Winter Beauty – Oakbank Photography

What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?

– John Steinbeck

Living here in Manitoba during the winter months can be tough. Winnipeg is infamous for its winter weather, but if you look close enough, you will find it to be quite beautiful. Today I bundled up (put on my Sorels, snow pants and down-filled jacket) and ventured out to capture some hidden winter beauty. Passers by likely wondered why a photographer was waist deep in the snow at the side of the road, but I really enjoy macro photography! Here is what I found…

Tiny Rainbow :: Day 6 | Project 365

Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.

– Maya Angelou

While driving into Winnipeg along the Perimeter Highway early this afternoon, I had to pull over to snap a photo of this tiny winter rainbow. I later learned that this tiny rainbow is actually referred to as a sundog, and is a common atmospheric phenomenon in the Arctic!

Our weather here in Manitoba today, fit the criteria for creating this little beauty:

  1. Sunlight
  2. Ice crystals
  3. Cirrus clouds
  4. Bitterly cold temperatures

Shadows – Oakbank Child Photography

All the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.

-Leo Tolstoy

As a photographer, I am always learning how light and shadows affect the mood of my photographs. I usually prefer the look that soft light and soft shadows cast, but today, I used hard light while taking some photos of my son. This was the result…

Snowy Prairie Sunrise – Oakbank Photography

The sunrise, of course, doesn’t care if we watch it or not. It will keep on being beautiful, even if no one bothers to look at it.

-Gene Amole

Today was my first time taking advantage of the golden hour at sunrise. These images were taken in a field close to my home in Oakbank, Manitoba. Despite the -40°C weather with the windchill (and after getting several booters), the window of time to capture these images was short-lived and I moved surprisingly quickly 🙂

Mastering the golden hour, and learning how to take full advantage of this light, is a goal of mine. I hope to use this soft beautiful light for family photo sessions – when the weather warms up!

Daddy Snuggles – Oakbank Family Photography

No love is greater than that of a father for His son.

-Dan Brown

I love capturing candid moments; they tell a story.

After being on holidays for 10 days, Harrison was a little surprised that Bob had to leave for work this morning. As I was preparing breakfast, I looked over to see the two of them, snuggling on the couch, watching Peppa Pig. Harrison snuggles are few and far between lately, which is why this moment was so special.

I love the way photos capture these special moments; these few minutes of our story that we can now look back upon, as a reminder, to enjoy the little things in life… like soaking up the affection before our not-so-little boy decides he is too big for stuff like that!

Let It Snow – Winnipeg Photography

We are like a snowflake, all different in our own beautiful way.

– Unknown

I’d been wanting to photograph snowflakes for quite some time, and today, finally had the opportunity. I froze my hands while doing so, in our crazy sub zero Winnipeg weather, but it was totally worth it.

Welcome 2017

Is it 2017 already !?! 2016 flew by, and was a busy exciting year for my family and I. We sold 2 properties, built a brand new home, welcomed our daughter Chloe into the world, moved from Winnipeg to Oakbank, and, I started Kristin Tiffany Photography 🙂 All in that order… I’m not sure how we survived, yet here we are; happy, healthy and grateful.

So much “newness” to photograph with these changes in my life. I’ve decided to start a 365 Day project; to document my days and journey as Mommy, wife and photographer throughout 2017.

Here are some photos I took of my son Harrison (3 years old) and Chloe (8 months old) to bring in the new year.

Please note that the last photo of Harrison, was actually the first, before my husband bribed him with M&M’s lol.
