I had a great time with Annie and her family at the Assiniboine Forest. We were pleased with the overcast day with a mild breeze, as it had been very hot, sunny and humid for a few days leading up to this session.
Although it was just a mini session, we managed to get a nice variety of images. Soon-to-be big brother had fun exploring and found a few forts; Mom’s baby bump was looking perfect; Swinging and climbing along the way 🙂

I had so much fun exploring King’s Park during this Family Maternity Session! Rachel and her family live close to this location, and spend a lot of time there, so it was the perfect, meaningful place to capture these memories.
Outdoor sessions can be tricky; We need to take into account several factors to achieve great photos.
1. The time of day (the sun can create harsh light/shadows and can cause people to squint).
2. The weather – which on this particular day went from clear skies, to cloudy with a sun shower, to partly cloudy, to bright sun!
3. Bugs! These kiddos were troopers on the trail through the bush.
4. Location – as you will see, King’s Park offers up lots of variety and beauty.

Your baby bump looks best around 34 weeks, if you are expecting a singleton. And if you are expecting multiples, a bit before 34 works well. Here Rachel is 32 weeks pregnant.

I LOVE Maternity Sessions, especially when they are done with my family! This session features my brother, sister-in-law, adorable niece and a sweet baby bump.
We chose St. Mary’s Nursery as the location for the shoot, and I really love how it came together. It was raining outside, so this indoor with elements of outdoor location was the perfect choice.
