Messy baby – Oakbank Baby Photographer

I like messy. What fun is tidy?

-Dasha Zhukova

Learning to eat is clearly fun 🙂  Chloe loves making a mess when she eats and has a good time doing so. It’s a challenge for me because mess drives me crazy, but I know it’s part of her development, so I have to relax lol.

I’m excited that she is willing to try new foods… our son Harrison was not as willing as a baby. We have just returned from our trip to Arizona where groceries were CHEAP, even with the poor exchange rate; Four avocados were a $1!

Back to reality, and paying Winnipeg prices, and, back to taking photos on home turf. Contact me to book a newborn, maternity, baby, child or family session.

Baby’s first swing – Winnipeg Baby Photographer

Simple joys… They make the greatest memories.

-Anonymous

Chloe had her first ride in a park swing, and it was adorable. Harrison wanted to push her, which made the moment even more special. This park was a short walk away from where we were staying in Arizona. The beautiful weather, sunshine and lack of bugs made our time there very enjoyable.

Documenting baby’s “firsts” is important to me, and I now have the photos to remember this first for Chloe… and Harrison’s first time pushing his baby sister in a swing 🙂

Green – Oakbank Photographer

Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.

-Dr. Suess

Tomorrow we head home to Winnipeg; home to sub-zero temperatures and snow. We were so fortunate to have beautiful weather for the entire week we were here in Arizona. I will miss the wearing sandals, walking to the outdoor pool and seeing green. Today I took a few photos to remember what “summer” weather feels like 🙂

Play – Winnipeg Photographer

Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning.

-Diane Ackerman

Today we explored The Children’s Museum of Phoenix. There were three floors with interactive displays, a climbing apparatus, a beautiful art room and much more. Harrison had a great time and they even had areas set up for babies, so Chloe played too 🙂

Here are some of my favorite photos from our time there:

Under the sea – Oakbank Photographer

Just keep swimming… what do we do, we swim, swim, swim.

-Dory [Finding Nemo]

We spent some time at the Sea Life Aquarium today and it was amazing! There were so many beautiful sea creatures and I was happy that I had my camera with me. I took plenty of photos and could have spent all day there taking more, these are a few of my favourites 🙂

First swim – Winnipeg Baby Photographer

I love you like a fish loves water.

-Anonymous

Chloe went for her first swim! She was very happy splashing about with her daddy and brother. I’m so glad I captured this fun family time and this Arizona winter weather sure beats Winnipeg’s, and we are taking full advantage of that 🙂

Dinosaurs – Winnipeg Photographer

Yea, I’m a dinosaur, so rawr and stuff.

-Unknown

We went to an outdoor event in Chandler, Arizona, with a neat dinosaur display. My son was amazed and curious, as they were animated, made noises, and were fairly realistic.

Here is a small sample of what we saw 🙂

Family adventure – Winnipeg Photographer

Fill your life with adventures not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show.

-Anonymous

Today we left for our first family trip as a family of four! Our destination was my in-laws seasonal home in Maricopa, Arizona. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to embark on this adventure as a family.

This day of travel definitely created some memories for us with… 8 carry-on bags, one plane transfer, a very busy toddler, and, it was baby Chloe’s first time flying.

Overall, I think the day went fairly smoothly, and we all made it one piece. I’m excited to create new family memories while we are here and will be taking lots of photos to document this special time in our lives.

Capturing family photos that are candid and part of an adventure or activity make these memories even more special. If you’d like me to document you and your family, contact me to book your family session 🙂

Siblings – Winnipeg Baby & Child Photographer

In all of life there is nothing more precious than the gentle ties that bind us together.

-Adele Basheer

I always knew that I wanted children, and hoped that I would be lucky enough to have them. Siblings are pretty special, and after the birth of my son Harrison in 2013, I knew our family wasn’t yet complete. My husband and I both have brothers, and I looked forward to blessing our son with a sibling someday. In April of 2016, our daughter Chloe was born… and we were complete 🙂

One very special memory in my life, was the moment Harrison met Chloe for the first time. My heart completely melted when he held her and gazed down at her (and I have a photo of this moment to treasure forever).  I love watching them interact and grow together. Although they are three years apart, I can see that they have a very special bond and friendship that will last forever.

I’d be happy to take photos of your children and family. Contact me to book a session!

Sunset jet streams – Oakbank Photography

Once you have tasted the taste of sky you will forever look up.

-Leonardo Da Vinci

I chased the sunset tonight in Oakbank, trying to find a space where the overhead wires and electrical towers didn’t interfere with the photos, and it was challenging. Regardless, the colours were beautiful.

At one point, there were four jet streams in the sky which was pretty neat and after the sun had set, I saw a family of deer frolicking about! I love living just outside Winnipeg – it offers a form of “country living” with the conveniences close by.

Although I live outside the city, I offer photography sessions within Winnipeg and all surrounding areas. Contact me to book a session today 🙂
