I love anything and everything related to art and home decor. Today I came across these keys while shopping at one of my favourite stores in Winnipeg, Michaels. I could literally spend all day roaming the isles, creating projects in my mind, and I am an “over analyzer” which has its own pros and cons 🙂

Being a photographer allows me to be the artist that I am. I create art with my camera, during the editing process, and make props that suit my artistic style. My style is soft, simple and timeless. I love watching my son play. Now at age four, his imagination is really starting to take off and the ideas he comes up with are uniquely his own.

My husband’s Aunt gave him an activity book that came with these little animal masks; he wanted to make them and try them out 🙂

The weather in Winnipeg has been a rollercoaster lately. It has gone from being -40°C to above 0°C in record time. This warmer weather is a treat for us, as we usually don’t see these temperatures until spring!

I was happy to see all of the trees covered in a soft dusting of snow this morning, and decided to drive to Bird’s Hill Park to take some photos of this “winter wonderland” we were graced with (before it melts away).

Bird’s Hill Park the perfect location for photo sessions. There are so many areas in the park to choose from, and they all photograph beautifully. Keep it in mind for your next maternity or family session with me 🙂

Sweethearts – Winnipeg Photographer

Sweethearts have been made from the same simple recipe since 1902, when they were first introduced … In 1997 “True Love” was resurrected from the early 1900’s to celebrate the company’s [NECCO] 150th anniversary.

These little candies have stood the test of time. They are a Valentine’s Day staple and add a little bit of fun and whimsy to the holiday. I love the soft pastel colours, which are a nice alternative to the traditional bright red and pinks used for so many Valentine’s Day photos.

I’m hoping to use similar colours for my Valentine’s Day mini session; so stay tuned 🙂

Pretty – Winnipeg Baby Photographer

If you think I’m cute now, wait until you see me in my tutu.

Babies in tutu’s are adorable! When I found out I was having a girl, I bought several tutu’s, in a variety of colours! I fell in love with this “Pretty Planks” floordrop by Lemondrop Backdrops, and decided to snap a few photos of my daughter wearing her tutu’s on this beautiful floor. She was not to pleased with the outfit changes, but I managed to capture some of the cuteness while she was happy.

Family portrait – Oakbank Photographer

I love the series of images today. My son drew pictures of our family, and although I may be biased, they are pretty great!

Rather than storing a growing pile of artwork he has done, or attempting to glue it all into a scrapbook; taking photos of them is the perfect way to remember his creations.

I plan to frame the family portrait he created today, because it tells a story about this time in our lives (just as a photo would).

I love watching my children sleep, and always wonder what they are dreaming about. It gives me a moment to reflect on the miracle they both are, reminds me to slow down, and enjoy the small things; All their little features, breathing and warm embrace.

Snuggling my babies will always be a fond memory of mine (and my husband’s). Today I captured our daughter shortly after she fell asleep in his arms. I made an effort to photograph all the tiny details I want to remember from right now, at this time in her life.

I’d love to take photos of your baby as a newborn (and beyond), so you too, can cherish these precious memories 🙂

My baby boy turned four today! I decided to have a photoshoot to celebrate today, and was surprised to find all of my props at a little store here in Oakbank.

I love how the photos captured his personality. He is spunky, energetic and confident 🙂

Today Harrison celebrated his last day of being three years old, with a big lollipop 🙂 Three has been an eventful year for everyone. Harrison has grown to be a caring, smart, sensitive, confident and determined little boy. He is a wonderful big brother to his sister Chloe, and loves making her laugh with his goofy nature.

Being a photographer has allowed me to stay home with my children, and I am so grateful for that. Everyone says, “they grow up so quickly” and “enjoy it because it won’t last long”. I’ve learned to love each milestone and accomplishment they achieve; rather than dwelling on the fact that they aren’t going to be “this little forever”.

I have made a great effort to document our family’s special days (and not so special days) – to keep our memories alive. I encourage you to do the same! Genes – Winnipeg Baby Photography

I am so grateful to be mommy to two beautiful, healthy children. They are each their own little person with different features and personalities. It is amazing to watch them learn and grow every day and it is neat to see little glimpses of my husband and I within them.

The most common question I am asked is if my husband has red hair – because both of my children have red hair, and my hair is blond. Much to everyone’s surprise, the answer is, “no, his hair is light brown… But I was born with red hair, and my grandmother and his great-grandmother were redheads.”

It is always fun to see which features resemble whom and everyone has an opinion lol. Today I decided to dress my daughter up in one of my own baby outfits (that my parents have kept as a keepsake for the last 35 years). I was able to find a photo of me wearing the outfit – which was perfect to use for comparison. I can see a few similarities, but personally think she has more of my husband’s features.
