A Teddy Bear Cake Smash was mom’s idea, and it was ADORABLE! Little Elias was so sweet and chill during his session; Casually eating his cake and calmly taking it all in – then he went wild with the bath 🙂

Cake Smash Sessions can be a bit overwhelming, there is a lot going on in a short period of time. If baby is well rested and relaxed, the session runs smoothly.

I always work around your baby’s schedule. You choose a time that works best for you around nap times etc.

Newborn Ajooni made me work! She took quite a while to settle, and thankfully she eventually decided to sleep. Awake baby photos are wonderful, but in order to get those posed shots, baby needs to be in a deep sleep.

Every baby is different, so I listen to baby’s cues throughout each session. Most often my techniques work in a timely manner, and when they don’t, patience is key.

Baby Samuel was the perfect little model for his photoshoot – just like his big sister was for her Simple & Sweet Baby Session in 2019. At a month old, I was able to pose him like a newborn, and re-create a few photos that were similar to big sister as well. Take a peek at the last pic to see a photo from her session 🙂

Baby Zoe was just shy of a month old, and mom was hoping for newborn photos. After the 2 week mark, newborn photos are tricky as baby is not as sleepy, curly and is much more alert. With that being said, we worked together to keep her cosy and comfortable and managed to capture some newborn-like photos.

Ellie and her family had to travel only a few minutes for her newborn session, as they also live in Oakbank 🙂

When they arrived I realized mom and dad looked super familiar – and we soon realized dad went to high school with me, and mom works at the dental office I go to.

Mom requested bright colours for Ellie’s set-ups, and brought along a few sports items as well.

Lucas was AMAZING for his Newborn Session! He was so comfy, sleepy and content the whole time – which is exactly what we hope for.

Dad brought along his own baby blanket, knit by his grandma, to be in a photo with his baby boy. How sweet 🙂

This newborn session went really well, and big sister did great. It’s always a toss up with toddlers. Some are very happy with the new addition and some want nothing to do with baby. Thankfully this sweetie was more than happy to snuggle her new sibling, and pose for a few photos on her own too.

And, Dawson’s dad has a passion for cars, so I added a special image just for him 🙂

I had a great time with Annie and her family at the Assiniboine Forest. We were pleased with the overcast day with a mild breeze, as it had been very hot, sunny and humid for a few days leading up to this session.

Although it was just a mini session, we managed to get a nice variety of images. Soon-to-be big brother had fun exploring and found a few forts; Mom’s baby bump was looking perfect; Swinging and climbing along the way 🙂

Chelsea’s sister-in-law gifted her this Mini Family Session – what a thoughtful gift 🙂

We met up at the Assiniboine Forest in the early evening, which can be tough with a toddler. Mom said she missed her nap so we were a bit nervous about how things would pan out. Luckily, she was in a pretty great mood and we were able to capture some beautiful memories.

This little man stole my heart at his Newborn Session . He was such a pleasure to photograph, barely made a peep and woke up right as I finished the session. Check the last pic to see his big beautiful eyes!

Mom left the session colours up to me. This was my first time using blue & yellow together. I really like how it came together 🙂
