I was so excited to finally meet baby Oaklyn (and her family). Oaklyn was born in March and was supposed to have a Newborn Session with me, but due to Covid-19, we had to postpone until recently.

Although we weren’t able to capture the sleepy posed newbon photos, Oaklyn’s age was perfect for a Simple & Sweet Session. This type of session caters to babies aged 2-6 months, which is a wonderful time to remember. As you can see, Oaklyn made great eye contact, smirked, smiled, and made lots of other adorable expressions.

This precious baby girl is my niece! I was worried that we would miss her Sitter Session because of the pandemic, but we did it.

I had been planning her outfits and set-ups for a while, and I am so pleased with how it all came together. The beautiful handmade velvet onesie from Props By Jeana was the inspiration for the colour palette.

As you will see, she let us know when she was done. The pouty pics are often just as cute as the smiley ones.

I am so happy we got to celebrate Kymani turning the big O-N-E with a Cake Smash. This was my first session back, after having to take a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I missed taking photos for families so much, and this session was the perfect way to start up again.

Kymani had so much fun smashing and eating his cake from Town Bakeshop & Ice Cream. His favourite part was the star cookie topper, he didn’t want to stop eating it lol. I love all of his sweet expressions and his smile showing those cute baby teeth 🙂

Madison’s mom reached out to me in the fall (well in advance of baby’s spring birthday) to start planning the perfect session for her daughter. I was so excited about this mermaid themed set-up.

When planning a Cake Smash Session, I ask parents to send me inspirational photos of ideas they have in mind. This allows me to take their vision into consideration, and use my own artistic eye, to create a memorable session. For Madison’s session, I had a lot of time to finalize the colour palette, gather props, and (as always) the addition of the beautiful cake from Town Bake Shop & Ice Cream was the perfect touch to tie everything together.

Madison was a busy bee throughout her session. She much preferred exploring the studio and wasn’t too interested in cake smashing. But, with lots of encouragement, patience, and wrangling from mom, we managed to get a gallery filled with great photos 🙂

I had a lot of fun planning this Under the Sea themed Cake Smash for baby Gabriel. Mom chose this theme and said she loved bright colours. We were all happy with how the set-up came together, but most of all, we were pleased with how happy baby was throughout the session.

This is all deception, done with the magic of composites. A composite is the merging of two or more photos to create a final image. Safety is always priority! That’s why it’s so important to work with a newborn photographer who knows what they’re doing.

Baby is ALWAYS photographed sleeping in a safe position, is ALWAYS supported, and is NEVER left in a compromising position. Babies startle often and are unpredictable.

Happy Easter! I sincerely hope you and your families are safe and well. It is so difficult to be away from family and friends during this pandemic, and trying to find a new “normal” for our kids is not easy.

Today my family and I started off the morning with our traditional egg hunt. My son is 7 and is starting to question whether or not the Easter Bunny is real, or in his words “is it you and daddy?” I’m not ready for this next phase of childhood wonder to end 🙁 I hope to hang onto it for as long as I can.

Here are a few fun photos I did with my kids yesterday, I cannot believe these are my babies, babies who were the size of this bunny a short time ago.

My sweet baby girl is FOUR today! I love planning birthday milestone sessions for my kids, it’s the perfect opportunity for me to try new ideas and set-ups.

I fell in love with this Victorian Floral backdrop from Backdrops Canada, and knew I wanted to build Chloe’s session around it. I found this beautiful dress on Facebook Marketplace, and pretty yellow flowers online at Michaels (who is offering online shopping with curb side pick-up during this pandemic!)

Documenting my kids as they grow and change year after year allows me to freeze time for a moment so I can remember them as they were… and I LOVE that 🙂

My photography studio is one of my favourite places to be 🙂 A place where I do what I love, capturing memories. I meet wonderful families, witness the miracle of pregnancy, snuggle sweet newborns, babble with babies, and smile until my cheeks hurt.

I’ve designed this space with my clients in mind. Every area has a purpose and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.  It is filled with gorgeous props from my favourite vendors:

The seating area is a cozy spot for you to relax, and enjoy a coffee or tea while I take photos of your little one.

As you will see in the photos, everything is clean, and safely organized. My prop room is separate from the studio shooting area, and is packed with props for newborns and babies of all ages.

Best of all, my studio is located in my home. Located at 30 Rosewood Way, in Oakbank. I live in a wonderful, safe, quiet neighbourhood. Parking is always available in my driveway, and I have all the comforts of home to offer you (including a private washroom).

Every session is custom styled with your choice of colours. And, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I have plenty of everything, in every colour!
