Lara: Maternity Session – Winnipeg Maternity Photography

This maternity session was booked and finished in a matter of days! Lara contacted me when she was 37+ weeks pregnant, and I knew we needed to have her session ASAP because baby could have arrived at any time.

Luckily Aspire Studios, in downtown Winnipeg, had a cancellation and we were able to get a time slot that worked for our schedules. I really enjoyed capturing Lara’s beautiful baby bump 🙂

We took photos here at my home in Oakbank, and love the variety of images. The maternity milk bath always is a favourite for my mommy-to-be clients. I was happy to take several couple images as well. Pregnancy is a special time for the dads too, and it’s nice to document the connection between the parents.

I love this series of images! They feature my neighbour, her beautiful family, and home. They include both posed and candid photos – telling a story about life for them at this moment, waiting for the arrival of their baby.

The Peatties: Maternity Session – Winnipeg Maternity Photography

The longer you wait for something, the more you appreciate it when you get it. Because anything worth having is worth waiting for.

There are so many feelings that develop when you’re expecting a baby; and one of these is anticipation. Today I had a maternity session with my cousin Laura, and her family. She is expecting her third child and does not know the gender – which adds another level of excitement through her journey of pregnancy.

The weather in Winnipeg is just starting to warm up and has been super icy and slippery the last couple days, which confirmed our decision to have an indoor photo session. These photos were taken at the Forks,  inside the Johnston Terminal.

Laura’s baby will be arriving in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to meet him or her 🙂 I will be photographing this little one, here in my studio in Oakbank.

This beautiful mom-to-be was a pleasure to photograph. She looked amazing and I am so pleased with her gallery images.

Growing a life inside of you is something truly amazing. As a mother of two, I am so thankful and lucky to have been able to carry my two beautiful babies. Documenting your pregnancy through photos is a wonderful way to remember this special time, and although you may feel large and uncomfortable; you will never be more beautiful 🙂
