This handsome newborn decided to stay put well past his due date! I had the pleasure of taking maternity photos with his lovely mama and dad. I love seeing my maternity mamas for their newborn shoots, it’s comfortable and familiar because we’ve already met and it puts everyone at ease 🙂

I was so happy with the weather for these mini sessions! It is so hard to predict weather here in Manitoba (especially in November)… I was hoping for a dusting of snow and tolerable temperatures and that was exactly what we got 🙂

This newborn session reminded me how quickly life can change. Several years ago, Jax’s mom and I worked together; when she was single, and a new teacher just starting her career. She now is a happily married lady, with a permanent teaching position and a perfect baby boy! I was so happy when she asked me to take photos for her. I had a great time catching up with her, meeting her hubby, and snuggling her little man.

Bird’s Hill Park is one of my favourite locations for family photos. There is so much variety and it is beautiful in every season. I had a wonderful time with this family and enjoyed exploring the paths and forest with them.

I usually photograph newborns 14 days old and younger, but this big guy was 6 weeks old at his session! He was pretty aware and awake for most of his session, which was expected for his age, but we still managed to capture a few sleepy shots. And, there is something equally special about those open-eyed shots 🙂

Baby mini-sessions are the perfect way to capture your little sweetheart! They are short and sweet, but allow enough time for outfit changes, a few photo set-ups, and, are a good time frame for busy babies. This little guy was 10 months old and was content and happy throughout his session 🙂
