Do you remember my Facebook post about staying tuned to see this cake smash baby’s big blue eyes? Well, here she is!

Madison’s mom reached out to me in the fall (well in advance of baby’s spring birthday) to start planning the perfect session for her daughter. I was so excited about this mermaid themed set-up.

When planning a Cake Smash Session, I ask parents to send me inspirational photos of ideas they have in mind. This allows me to take their vision into consideration, and use my own artistic eye, to create a memorable session. For Madison’s session, I had a lot of time to finalize the colour palette, gather props, and (as always) the addition of the beautiful cake from Town Bake Shop & Ice Cream was the perfect touch to tie everything together.

Madison was a busy bee throughout her session. She much preferred exploring the studio and wasn’t too interested in cake smashing. But, with lots of encouragement, patience, and wrangling from mom, we managed to get a gallery filled with great photos 🙂

I had a lot of fun planning this Under the Sea themed Cake Smash for baby Gabriel. Mom chose this theme and said she loved bright colours. We were all happy with how the set-up came together, but most of all, we were pleased with how happy baby was throughout the session.

Gabriel enjoyed every aspect of the session. Big smiles, smashing and major splashing made for some great photos. Take a look at all the fun Gabriel had!

Newborn smiles are tough to beat! They are hard to capture, and are super quick and unintentional – which makes a photo of them extra special.

I like to think they are dreaming of something wonderful, but it’s usually just gas lol.

Did you ever wonder how a newborn photographer gets photos of infants sleeping in a swing hanging from a branch? Or most importantly, how the baby can be safe so high above the ground?

This is all deception, done with the magic of composites. A composite is the merging of two or more photos to create a final image. Safety is always priority! That’s why it’s so important to work with a newborn photographer who knows what they’re doing.

Baby is ALWAYS photographed sleeping in a safe position, is ALWAYS supported, and is NEVER left in a compromising position. Babies startle often and are unpredictable.

With  plenty of experience and education on newborn safety, you can trust that your precious baby is in safe, capable hands. And, due to my editing skills,  I can create some really amazing composites for you 🙂

My photography studio is one of my favourite places to be 🙂 A place where I do what I love, capturing memories. I meet wonderful families, witness the miracle of pregnancy, snuggle sweet newborns, babble with babies, and smile until my cheeks hurt.

I’ve designed this space with my clients in mind. Every area has a purpose and is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.  It is filled with gorgeous props from my favourite vendors:

The seating area is a cozy spot for you to relax, and enjoy a coffee or tea while I take photos of your little one.

As you will see in the photos, everything is clean, and safely organized. My prop room is separate from the studio shooting area, and is packed with props for newborns and babies of all ages.

Best of all, my studio is located in my home. Located at 30 Rosewood Way, in Oakbank. I live in a wonderful, safe, quiet neighbourhood. Parking is always available in my driveway, and I have all the comforts of home to offer you (including a private washroom).

Every session is custom styled with your choice of colours. And, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I have plenty of everything, in every colour!

My Maternity Client Closet houses a stunning collection of gowns, in a range of sizes and styles, and coordinating accessories.

I’m so happy baby Sophia was able to have her Cake Smash Session before closing my studio, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sophia’s mom showed me some inspirational photos that included shades of purple, flowers and greenery on a white background. I pulled together items from my prop collection, and came up with a very pretty set-up.

As mentioned, my studio is currently closed, and all sessions are postponed until it is safe to re-open. The great thing about Cake Smash Sessions, is your baby will be one for a whole year, and, the celebration of turning one can be at any time 🙂

Baby Bhavnaira was a delight to photograph at her Simple & Sweet Session. She had the most amazing head of hair, and the longest eyelashes I’ve ever seen.

At 7 weeks old, she was past the newborn stage, which is why I offer this type of session. It is never too late 🙂

Big brother Leo wanted to help little sister smash her cake, and they had lots of fun making a mess!
